New Identify whether a website is reliable By Patricbensen

Many people wonder if a particular site is reliable or not. These are usually shopping sites that offer very large discounts on expensive products in normal times.
There are several methods to determine the credibility of a website.

Using WOT

Install WOT!
This little add-on for browsers provide you with an estimate of Internet users for each site you visit and thus determine its commercial credibility.
You can install WOT from its official site.

 Visual methods

 Terms of use or sale:
Websites usually have "Terms of use", especially shopping sites, which have "Sales Terms". They are at the bottom of the page, and provide information on prices, deliveries, and products origin...

 Legal Notice:
"The editor of a website, the author of a blog or an online shopping store shall display legal notices on its website. This is a legal requirement worldide.
A site with no imprint is illegal.

 Site security:
Most reputable shopping sites have, during the transaction, the architecture https://, which defines payment security.
The https is not obtained anyhow, so it is a valuable warranty in orders. You can see if the site is https in the web browser address bar:

Attention: A site displaying https:// is not necessarily reliable. But, a site that will not display during a transaction will be considered as unreliable.

 Orthography:
A site full of mistakes is invalid. Serious sites make no mistake.

 Presentation:
If the Web site is disorganized (not centered pictures, overflowing text, unrecognized characters...), it is certain that it's not reliable.
Fraudulent sites generally follow the same format: all their products on the left, top bars and all brands are in bottom.

 Redirects:
It is not rare that an unreliable website redirects you to sites in China, North Korea, or other "world workshop". So you can be sure that this site has no value and that you will leave your money there!

 Discounts and Products:
If discounts of a site are all the same (generally 60%: it is just above 50% to be attractive and just below 70% to not look suspicious), it's a bad sign.

 Whois

Whois is used to find information on the site, such as, country, administrator contact information...
A commercial site in Spain domiciled in China for example, means most probably forgeries or a scam.
Just go to network-tools and on the left menu, select Whois, enter the address and click go! :

 An example of infringement:
 Registrant Country: SP
 Admin Name : xx

 Registrant:
 Organization   : zhao chun ...
 Name           : zhao chun ...
 Address        : li xia ...
 City           : ji nan shi
 Province/State : Shandong
 Country        : CN
 Postal Code    : 250000
We see clearly that the country (CN) is China, with the person's name.
It's the same as sites with contact details "Anonymous" can not be of trusted.

BE CAREFUL! Do not throw headlong on discounts... because it's often forgery, which is punishable by law.

New Fix Moto G too slow after installing Lollipop Update By Patricbensen

Motorola's popular Android devices, the Moto G 1st Generation and Moto G 2nd Generation have already received the latest Android 5 Lollipop upgrade. Despite their budget prices, these devices smoothly ran Android 4.4 KitKat and they're equally capable of running the polished and featured packed Android Lollipop OS. However, after the recent upgrade, many users are finding that their Moto G is getting too slow- causing random crashes, freezes and lagging while playing Videos or swapping between apps. This is not a hardware issue because if Galaxy S2 can smoothly run Lollipop, the Moto G second generation or first generation should have no problem with it. So how do you fix a slow or lagging Moto G after the lollipop Update? There are a couple of solutions you can try.

Method 1: How to wipe cache partition of Moto G

This is a more convenient method than method 2 below. Clearing cache partition is recommended for people who flash ROMS or regularly update their Android devices. To wipe cache partition on your Moto G follow these stpes

  1. Turn off your device
  2. Press Volume Down key for 2-3 seconds and then without letting go, press the power key. Now Release.
  3. Now you will see different Boot options
  4. Use Volume Down key to scroll to"Recovery" and press Volume Up to select it
  5. Now you will see Motorola Logo followed by Android in distress logo with exclamation mark
  6. Press and hold Power button for 2 seconds or so and then press Volume Up key
  7. Once you enter recovery mode, select "Wipe Cache Partition" (Use volume keys to navigate and power key to select)
  8. Select "Okay"
  9. Once the process is completed, go back and select "reboot system now"
Note: This same method can be used to wipe cache partition of Moto G second generation and Moto X. If your phone still lags or freezes, repeat method 1 a couple of times.

Method 2: Factory Reset

This is a simple method but it will wipe your phone's apps and data  If you're willing to do a factory reset then first do a backup of your device's data. Sync your App data, contacts, calendars etc to your Google account if it's not already synced. To sync go to Settings >> Accounts >> Select "Google" and then Select your Gmail account and start syncing everything. Check your downloads folder and backup everything there. You can also move your pictures, videos and music files to another location temporarily. Once, you're all set go to Settings >> Backup & reset >> Select "Factory data reset" >> Select "Okay". Now your phone will reboot and it should be back to its snappy self.

I hope by applying one of the above methods, you've solved the Moto G, Moto G 2nd Generation and Moto X lagging issue after Lollipop update. If you have any other fix or tips to resolve this issue please mention them in the comments.

New How to Enable Undo Send in Gmail By Patricbensen

Gmail has finally made its "undo send" feature official today. This experimental feature was in development since 2009 but had yet to be integrated into Gmail.com. With this feature you will be able to cancel your sent email within a cancellation window period. You can choose 5,10,20 or 30 seconds as your cancellation period, after which you cannot undo send message. This period is quite short and you will have to be very quick to realize that you want to press the Undo button. Basically this feature delays your email instead of undoing a sent email. If you have been using the Labs version of "Undo Send", your Gmail will have this feature turned on by default. If not, here is how can enable this feature:

  1. Login to your Gmail account
  2. Click the Gear icon on the top right
  3. Click "Settings"
  4. Scroll down and check "Enable Undo Send"
  5. Set a cancellation period
  6. Click "Save Changes"
Now, after sending a message, you will see a message where you can click on "Undo" to undo the sent message.

New How to fix "Could not scan for wireless networks" error on iPhone 6 after iOS 8.3 update By Patricbensen

Many Apple iPhone 6 owners complained about the error message "Could not scan for wireless networks," which happens when their Wi-Fi connection drops and they try to reconnect. Apple didn't acknowledge the problem so it hasn't been confirmed that it came with the iOS 8.3 update.

But the thing is it also happened to some owners after updating their phone to previous versions. It's probably just a problem with some data that became corrupt after an update as it occurs more often after Apple rolled out new iOS updates.

Now, here's one email our reader sent seeking help because his iPhone 6 is having issues connecting to his Wi-Fi network.

Reader's message: Hello guys! I really hope you can help me with my problem. I own an iPhone 6 which has been with me for a couple of months now. Everything was working fine until Apple screwed it up for me by its new update--iOS 8.3. After I downloaded the update, which installed successfully by the way, my Wi-Fi has been disconnecting randomly.

Yesterday, it disconnected more than 10 times--imagine how annoying that is--and when I try to reconnect it would say "Could not scan for wireless networks." Rebooted my iPhone several times to no avail so I had to "Reset Network Settings" to make it work again. I don't want to do that and I know you understand why.

The phone has been working just fine then this update came and mess it up. What am I going to do to fix this problem? By the way, I called Apple support but they all wanted me to restore my phone. If there's something I can do to fix the problem without losing everything I've setup, that would be great. Please help me. Regards, Sylvester.

As I said earlier, Apple didn't acknowledge the problem but many encountered it. The good thing if the problem is common is that many will try to discover workarounds for it. That said, these are the procedures that reportedly worked for other users:

Update to latest available iOS version. I understand the reader just updated to iOS 8.3 but with iOS 8.4 launching next week, it might be practical to wait for it and see if it bring bug fixes. Or, you may try other procedures specified below.

Turn off Wi-Fi Networking. This service is responsible in handling data that relates to your location that is used for Wi-Fi networking. So, there will be no impact on your Wi-Fi usage if it's disabled. However, many users said this procedure fixed the problem for them. Just go to Settings > Privacy > Location Services > System Services, and toggle the switch off.

Reset Network Settings. This procedure is for other users who may have experienced this problem but don't know how to temporarily fix it. As our reader pointed out, he doesn't want to do this every time so it's not permanent. However, it can help if you badly need an internet connection and this problem happens to you. Just go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.

Change DNS servers on your phone. This procedure only applies if the problem is with your internet service provider. Google and OpenDNS provide free DNS services that are more reliable than others. Try changing the ones on your device and see if that helps. Go to Settings > Wi-Fi > tap on the i icon that can be found on the far right of your network > scroll down to the DNS section > tap on the numbers and enter any of the following:

  • Google DNS - 8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4
  • OpenDNS - 208.67.222.222 or 208.67.222.220

Restore iPhone and set it up again. If all else fails, then restore your iPhone 6 and set it up as a new device. I understand it's a lot of work especially if you have a lot of data in your phone but if this is what it takes to make your phone work smoothly as before, then it's worth it. Or,  you can visit an Apple Store and have the tech check the iPhone for you. Your choice.

There you have it! If you have further questions or other concerns, feel free to email us at sebertech@gmail.com and we will do our best to help you.

New Fix Blank screen while receiving calls in Android Lollipop By Patricbensen

The display staying blank while receiving calls is a frequent problem plaguing Android users who have recently updated their device to Lollipop 5.0 (Android L) or 6.0 Marshmallow. KitKat 4.4 and Jellybean 4.3 users might also face similar “black screen on call” issue, if they recently fiddled with the call notification settings of their devices. When your phone is idle, the screen sleeps but it should wake up when you get a call. Due to this bug, when there’s an incoming call you can hear the ringtone playing but the display remains blank, so you can’t see who is calling without pressing the power button to unlock the screen. Here is how you can fix this issue:

Xperia Z3 Blank Call Screen Fix

First, check for updates. If new firmware or new version of Android OS is available, install it. To check for updates Go to Settings >> About Phone >> System Updates >> You will be notified if there’s an update available >> Proceed with the update. That should get rid of this bug. If you have already installed the latest OS on your device but are still having this issue, follow these steps:
  1. Go to Settings >> Sounds and notification >> Interruptions
  2. You will see “When calls and notifications arrive” option >> Select “Always interrupt” (alternatively, select ‘allow priority interruptions only’).
  3.  Now from “Priority interruptions” >> Turn on “Calls”
  4.  Reboot your device
  5. |Do a test call to see if you smarphone’s display turns on when receiving a call.
Some devices recently affected by this display settings bug include HTC Desire C, One Plus One, Moto G, Nexus 5 , Sony Xperia Z3, Yu Yureka On some devices running custom ROMS like Cynogenmod, this might be a calibration issue of the proximity sensor. Check your screen protector- if its low quality or dirty, it might be affecting the proximity sensor. If you run CM 12 or similar custom ROM, try this fix: How to fix screen going blank in Cynogenmod 12.

New Yu Yureka - How to fix screen going blank in CM 12 By Patricbensen

You might be facing this screen going blank issue if you’ve just update to Cyanogenmod 12, a custom Rom based on Android Lollipop 5.0. What happens is your phone’s display will go dark when you receive a call or when you are in the middle of the conversation. When you are getting a call you can hear the ringtone but the display stays blank. Sometimes your screen turns off when you are dialing a number. This appears to be a proximity sensor related bug that turns off display abruptly. To fix it you will need to manually calibrate the sensor. Micromax Yu Yureka is one these devices affected by this issue. If you are one of the Yureka users or someone facing similar issue these steps might help you solve the blank screen while receiving call issue:

First: Check to see if you screen protector is causing this issue. Poor screen protectors or dirty ones can also interfere with the proximity sensor.

How to fix blank call screen issue in Cyanogenmod 12

  1. Open dialer (click the phone icon)
  2. Dial *#*#7769#*#*
  3. You will not be directed to “Proximity Calibration Info” screen
  4. Select “Start”
  5. Wait till it shows “Calibration Good”
  6. Now you can stop and exit

That should properly set your proximity sensor so that you won’t get a black screen on call or while getting a call. Besides Yureka, devices like Micromax Canvas A91, A110 Canvas 2 have also reported this screen bug. If you have any other fix or solution for this issue please mention them in the comments.

***NOTES***

Choose ONLY ONE ! , You can't try all tweaks together !
If a links is not working, Its because the developer close the thread.
Its up to you to feel the changes and the performance on your Galaxy V.

Done with tweak, Lets move on to the next step

Tips #2

Disable Animations.

If you have enable Animations you gonna see some fancy animation while you enter or quit after using app, Pop up animations and so on, Animations can make your Vivalto slow and take much time to enter an any apps, To speed up your Galaxy V , Animations must be turn OFF (Highly Recommended) . Follow the very simple steps below to disable animations.

  • Go to your Settings
  • Go to your About Phone and tap on Build Number 7-10 times untill you see "Developer mode has been enable"
  • Go back to your main menu of your Settings and find Developer Options (above About Phone)
  • Scroll down untill you see these 3 options.
    "Windows Animation Scale"
    "Transitions Animation Scale"
    "Animator Duration Scale"
  • Change all these 3 options to "Animation Off"
  • Done
Now you disable animations, You can feel it is more faster now to enter the app without load up fancy animations.Maybe this is a small improvement but is very helpful. Lets go to another steps !

Tips #3

No Live Wallpapers.

My next tips is to stay away from Live Wallpapers because they also slow down your Galaxy V little bit. As we all know, Live wallpapers has some nice looking and great effect but it can slow our device because its have a lot of animations running on the same time and its running on your background so its can drain your battery and consume your RAM. If you want a faster Galaxy V,Im highly recommend that you use a simple wallpaper.

Tips #4

Uninstall apps that you don't use

To have a faster Galaxy V. Im always keep my device clean from not usefull apps because as you may know some apps maybe run in the background so it can slow your Galaxy V and draining your battery. So please always delete apps that you don't want to use it anymore,Remember ,Less App , Less RAM Consume. You can feel your device getting faster and much better than before if you keep the usefull apps on your device.

Tips #5

Remove Bloatware.

This steps is basically the same reason like on Tips #4 . But this steps we gonna go in deep way.So let me give a simple explanation about Bloatware.

Bloatware is a system apps that have been integrated in your Galaxy V Stock ROM such as Hangout,Line,Gmail,Google Plus and so on ,System apps also can run in your background and consume your RAM and your battery. By default, We can't uninstall this apps because this is a system apps, But if you have a ROOT permissions, You will be able to delete system apps with simple steps. Lets begin with the steps on how to uninstall system apps. As I said you need a rooted access. If you don't know how to root your Galaxy V. Simply press the link below

http://patricbensen.blogspot.com/2015/03/guide-how-to-root-and-install-cwm-for.html">How To Root And Install CWM on Your Galaxy V

To install system apps you also need an app that can modify your system like Root Explorer, etc

  • Download and Install Root Explorer,Open it
  • Go to your system/app. From here scroll down and find what app you don't want to use anymore (Delete With Caution, Not all apps you can uninstall) . If you get a prompted message to mount R/W just choose yes.
  • After you have done with system/app, now navigate to system/priv-app and delete what apps you don't want to use. (Delete With Caution, Not all apps you can uninstall)
  • Done with system/priv-app , Now just reboot your phone and you will not see again what apps that you just delete
***NOTES***
Delete With Caution
Not All Apps can be uninstall
Wrong delete system apps can cause a bootloop.
If you using a Custom ROM , Some bloatware has already remove by the ROM Developers.

Tips #6

Using a Task Killer App.

Also . I like to include using a Task Killer Apps also a good way to prevent your apps running in the background and its also helps you prevent consume your more battery usage. Im personally use a Task Killer on my Galaxy V , Im using an app called Gemini Task Killer Widget free on Google Play Store. This apps is very light and so simple interface. Basically this app is a widget on my Home Screen , When I tap on the widget, Its clean my RAM with easy and fast. Im highly recommend to you guys check out the app now. Gemini Task Killer Widget. Also if you don't like this one, You can also use a another task killer app from Play Store such as Advance Task Killer and so on. All task killer apps on Google Play is still the same function but only different interface. Check out this app

Tips #7

Using Greenify.

If you don't know what Greenify is, Greenify is an app that allows you to hibernate apps that running in the background, Google for more Info.

This apps help you to have a so much to have a free memory and this app also can keep your Battery life last longer than usual. Check out this app on Google Play, Free and paid version. Im using a free version.

Tips #8

Using apps that control your Entrophy to reduce lag.

What is Entrophy ? Google it for more info. This two apps is too complex to explain about, but its remove lag.Apps that I wanna show you is the best app that I use since Im using my first Android Device Samsung Galaxy Y, and Im personally like this apps so much because its control my entrophy and reduce LAG on my Galaxy V. Apps that im talking about is Seeder and SeFix . This two apps basically have a same way to control your entrophy. I like both and Im use both on my Galaxy V. Check out these apps below. You must have a root permissions !

***NOTE***

Its up to you to feel the performance changes on your Galaxy V. For me it is 10000000% perfect and working flawlessly.

Tips #9

Replace Your Launcher

In this tips , I highly recommeded to you to replace your Stock Launcher with others launchers that avalaible on Google Play Store. Why we need to replace the Stock Launcher ? Stock Launcher is basically just a normal launcher and its doesnt have special features that avalaible on custom Launcher avalaible on Play Store. Stock launcher also react about bit late and lag when you have a lot of apps Installed and this can make your Galaxy V slow. Im personally use a launcher called Nova Launcher, What I like the most in this Nova Launcher because its has a options to controll your Scroll Speed also Animation Speed. This can make my launcher respond very fast when I set the Scroll And Animation speed to "Fast" or "Faster Than Light" . The best feature that I like . Interested to use Nova Launcher ? Check this app on Google Play and its FREE

Nova Launcher Cick HERE

Tips #10

Clean Your Homescreen From Widget

Homescreen is the best way to give you beatiful look on your device but you may know that lots of Widget on your Homescreen can make your Launcher heavy and take some time to reload all apps and widget back after you in your homescreen. So to speed up your Vivalto, Just using a simple Widget or do not use widget more than 3 . It can slow down your device!

Tips #11

Turn off Auto Sync

Most of us ended up by adding a list by different account to our Galaxy V, and we allow them to automatically sync in the background to pull a new data and provide us with updates, All this syncing has a big impact of a performance also draining your battery. So its time to disable it!

  • Go to settings
  • And find auto sync under accounts
  • Turn it off and done
  • You can also tap to disable sync on your Quick Settings. Just swipe down to open your statusbar
  • Find sync toggle and just toggle it off
  • Done
Tips #12

Always keep your device up to date.

By keeping your device up to date, This also helps you out to increase your Galaxy V performance and some improvement on your Vivalto, So please check for updates and keep your device has a latest software installed.

  • Go to your settings
  • Scroll down into your About Device
  • Choose Software Update
  • And just check if update avalaible, If yes , Just update it.
***NOTE***
You can do this if you already ROOT your Galaxy V.

Tips #13

Using Zram Scripts

Im already make a guide on how to swap your Galaxy V RAM using ZRam Scripts. Read below

http://patricbensen.blogspot.com/2015/06/tutorial-how-to-swap-your-ram-using.html">How To Swap Your Ram With ZRam
